Greetings fellow Toledoans! The internet is so full of information and interesting websites.
I stumbled upon ToledoTalks.com the other day and have found the dicussion threads to be interesting and polite exchange of thoughts and ideas. A testament to the energy, intelligence and love of our fair city by its residents.
There is a particularly fun thread going right now about memories of Toledo, Ohio. Things remembered are Dyers, the restaurant downtown with live lobsters in the window, Kiddieland on Monroe St, Roman Gardens, cruising the Sylvania and Lockwood White Huts. Drag racing on Enterprise Road just after it was built before buildings were there, Stanleys meat market, Red and White grocery store, Jesse James drive in, the list goes on.
Did you know that the Franklin Park Mall used to be the site of a landing strip? What a great way to idle away some time, remembering great times in Toledo, Ohio.
Who remembers the Lamson's Dept Store downtown or getting a phosphate at Elmer's drugstore's soda fountain? Ooops, showing my age...
It's been a sweet trip down memory lane. Stop by and check out the discussions or feel free to add your memories here.
Toledo was and remains to be a great place to live.
