Manual point bonus for interesting/unique/helpful contributions

By
Real Estate Technology with ActiveRain

Some members has expressed that we should provide additional opportunities for them to earn points.  So, we are going to start awarding more bonus points to members who make helpful, interesting, or unique contributions to the network.  This may include but is not limited to writing interesting and unique blog posts, answering questions in the forums, etc.  These points are awarded at our discretion, but are meant to encourage members who help build a healthy real estate community.

Bryan Tutas - Florida real estate agent and great guyBryan Tutas was the first recipient of a 1,000 point bonus for having the both the most interesting (as rated by members) and most commented on blog posts yesterday.  He says ActiveRain is his first try at blogging, and so far he's been writting some good stuff that we've all been enjoying.  Be sure to check out his blog if you haven't already.

Kudos, I completely agree! Bryant has the best blogs around. To prove it we actually got a listing from one of his ideas. I absolutely think he is the most deserving of the points.

Great idea for awarding extra points for interesting/helpful blogs.

I sure hope Bryant doesn't win every/week month. Just kidding :)

Sounds like a great way to spend some time getting more marketing clout in front of the computer monitor. Everyone, especially real estate agents benefit when we all step up and help each other out in this trip called life.

Bryant: Congratulations on the points. I agree... great posts. AR: Good move. For those "playing" the point system game, I think this will encourage even more creative and useful posts.

I still think we should cut the United States map into 4 or 5 or 6 major regions so that people are not fighting for the top spot, the king of the mountain!  Catch my drift here?

Well said and great thinking...It is amazing how some are so competitive with the points etc.  I heard from a peer that she has hired an assistant just to move up the ladder..my thoughts are that if someone passes me ... good for them....but my day is not profitable by posting blogs just for points..it begins in the morning and again at the end of the day and in b/w I create relationships along the way....keep up the competitive spirit but don't loose sight of the theory behind activerain!

If Bryants doing this just for points, which I doubt, we can still all consider ourselves lucky to be able to freely read his blogs. They are interesting and witty with the Lovely wife popping up every now and then, just enough to make you laugh. Way to go Bryant and lovely wife!!! You deserve every point you get. Karen

Outstanding idea. I imagine then that someone will have to judge the level of contribution a post/blog/comment is. How will this be judged? What is the turn around time. Is it the community that judges it, or the owners?

Thanks

Justin
