Miracle Needed for Nora - Your Thoughts and Prayers are Needed
Nora is a special lady with a huge giving heart. I've known her since 1989. Her and her husband happened in on an open house of mine while I was still living in Flagstaff. San Fransisco had just had an earthquake and they wanted to make a change in their lives. They ended up moving to Flagstaff and buying a home in my neighborhood. That's when our friendship turned into more like a 'sisters' relationship. We've been like family ever since.
Nora has had many health issues over the years. Lately she seems to have slipped a bit in remembering things and being able to walk firmly. Friday afternoon we got the phone call - not good news. She has a brain tumor that is wrapped around an artery and must have surgery this next week. Sobering news. She is worried more about her husband Geoffrey and what would happen to him if she didn't make it through the surgery. You see Geoffrey has MS. If you met these two you'd never know they have such serious issues - they are always looking on the bright side and trying to make lemonade out of lemons.
Today the girls are taking Nora out for a girls spa day and lunch while the guys take in a guy flick. It's times like this when we drop everything and take care of what's most important, the people in our lives. I know our AR family is the same - kind and caring.
Nora said last night that if she's got 5 days to live to the fullest, that's what she going to do and she doesn't want to dwell on what might happen. Strong lady......
