I live in Springfield in Robertson County, TN. It was literally a breath of fresh air to move here from HOT, steamy, overcrowded South Florida.
We ended up in Springfield nearly 5 years ago kind of by default. We thought we had found the perfect home in Sumner County, but two weeks before our arrival in TN that listing was withdrawn. The search resumed, and we found our future home. The appeal of living out in the country with some elbow room and the small town appeal of Springfield was what drew us here.
I think what impressed us the most when we started going out and about in Springfield was the friendly atmosphere everywhere we went. Friendly neighbors and drivers -- what a shock to the system!
Springfield may be a little distant from the interstates and may not have a large selection of chain restaurants or a big shopping mall, but I can be in Clarksville or Nashville for shopping or dining in 30 to 45 minutes. Springfield does have many great local restaurants and shops, a quaint downtown that includes Courthouse Square, a historic area of beautiful homes, parks, and a scenic greenway for walking or jogging. It’s well worth the drive and so relaxing to travel through the countryside with picturesque views of cows & horses grazing in rolling pastures next to fields of wheat, corn & tobacco in Spring & Summer, smoke drifting lazily from tobacco barns in the Fall, and dustings of snow across bare branches and barren fields in Winter. Springfield is a wonderful place to live . . . care to join me?
