Just showing up

I have had people ask me what I think is important to succeeding in today's market. 

It is important to get going and just show up.  Thats how many of us got started in real estate, it really isn't that much different right now.

I had no idea what I was doing many years ago when I first started in real estate.  I just had to get to work. 

Don't be discouraged and let yourself down by staying home or hiding behind a desk doing paperwork and feeling like you are busy.

Do those things that are taught to get started.

  • show up to open houses
  • show up with your business card when you are at restaurants, gas stations, etc
  • show up at the office and hope for a floor call
  • show up at a FSBO
  • show up at educational opportunities
  • show up at net working functions

............................you fill in the rest.

Keep at it!  Lee Iaccoca said in his book something like if you have have good service and good product and there is business out there - you will get your share.

You also have to show up for work.  The market is slow but I have noticed many agent don't show up for days, and you really miss information that is circulating just through the office.

Be prepared. You never know where your next deal will come. I tell people i do my best business "in the street".
