l Dorado Hills will soon be home to one of California's Welcome Centers. Currently there are only 14 official state visitor centers throughout California where you can stop for visitor assistance, free brochures, clean restrooms
and other services but come the end of this month El Dorado Hills will be on the map as well.
The Welcome Centers offer a place visitors can learn about attractions statewide with an emphasis on their local area promoting places to stay and things to do. Our emphasis will be on El Dorado County and our wonderful attractions. State tourism officials predict the center will pull in approximately 15,000 visitors per year and with them revenue for our local businesses. 
Our Welcome Center project began with an effort by El Dorado Hills Chamber of Commerce President and CEO, Debbie Manning, in an effort to get visitor information signage on the freeway. Welcome Centers are spaced throughout the state a minimum of 50 miles apart with the closest to us here in El Dorado Hills being Auburn and Truckee. The El Dorado Hills Welcome Center will be located in Town Center beneath Chili's Restaurant and to the right of Cold Stone Creamery . Inside the 2000 square foot center, visitors will find a trained concierge, aided by video panels that will guide visitors to area attractions. A giant mural will portray the entire region of opportunities, targeting specific destinations. 
The official Grand Opening and Celebration of the Welcome Center is Friday, May 28th 9:00AM-5:00PM.
