If Sarasota real estate is all about location, this may be the perfect family neighborhood. Ask most people about Kentwood Estates and they may not know where it is; but anyone who has been there will remember it for sure. Consisting of just one street which wraps around in a circle, the neighborhood has large lots, beautiful landscaping, and mature trees that provide shade and character.
Kentwood Estates is located just a few football fields distance from the north causeway to Siesta Key; it is a short bike ride to the shopping and dining of Osprey Avenue and Southside Village. Red Rock Park is only a block away. Homes are not "cookie cutter" and show variety, and sit on lots 1/2 acre and larger. Although the neighborhood is more established, it has already been upgraded to central sewer, a concern in this part of town.
Perhaps one of the best features of this neighborhood, though, is the people themselves. There is no mandatory or formal HOA, but each family is asked to chip in $20 per year to keep the entrance maintained, as well as to facilitate the neighborhood picnics which have become a tradition, There is a real sense of community and family in this small community of under 40 homes.
