The National MLS database for Realtors is well on its way to becoming a reality in realty. The database, Realtors Property Resource LLC, RPR is a subsidiary of the National Association of Realtors, NAR. NAR announced that they have contracted with 43 MLS markets. Within the next several months NAR hopes to launch the national database for use by all its members. When the service launches even though all Realtors will be able to access the database only those members of the MLS's that are licensing their listings will have full functionality of the database.
RPR is in its infancy and will have plenty of growing pains to endure over the months. It is an exciting time to be in real estate. It is interesting to watch as technology and real estate marry changing the face of the real estate industry forever.
