Cobb County Summer Camps Make Summer Learning Fun

By
Real Estate Agent with Maximum One Realty Greater Atlanta

Once again, Cobb County, Georgia is a great place for kids to spend the summer.  As students prepare for the end of the school year, summer camps across Cobb County are gearing up to teach children how to paint, dance, act, cook, improve their athletic and learning skills, and more.

Cobb County organizations are also offering summer camps throughout the county for youths in various programs, from tennis to performing arts. For artistically inclined youth, programs are offered at The Art Place in east Cobb, The Art Station in west Cobb, Mable House in Mableton and the Jennie T. Anderson Theatre in Marietta.

Arts camp is all about grassroots arts education, and is the best way to touch the most people and allow them to participate in the arts. And for the teens, it gives them the opportunity to experience in-depth learning for a concentrated amount of time.

The Metro Atlanta YMCA has long hosted summer camps. This summer, in addition to programs at the McCleskey-East Cobb and Northeast Cobb Ys, the organization will host Camp Sandmann on Lake Allatoona in Cartersville, beginning May 24.

Beginning June 1, the Northwest YMCA in Kennesaw will provide fun activities for youth at the YMCA Sports & Camp complex in Dallas.

YMCA summer day camps are great places for kids to discover the outdoors, try new activities and meet friends outside of their schools or neighborhoods.  They learn, interact, play and have fun. Parents have peace of mind because their children are supervised and camp counselors are positive role models. Pre-teens and teens can participate in leadership development programs such as leaders-in-training and counselors-in-training.

The Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta will host a variety of day camps this summer for kindergardeners through rising sixth-graders at Shirley Blumenthal Park on Post Oak Tritt Road in east Cobb. The program runs May 24 through Aug. 6.

The benefits of camp are the experiences that the children have, the friendships they form and the self-discovery that they go through.  You truly cannot gain life experiences anywhere like you can at camp.  So why not expand your children's horizons this summer by allowing them to participate in a camp.  The experience will be fun, educational and memorable!
