Our corner of Carlsbad, Southeast, is going to get even better. The Flocke & Avoyer Commercial Real Estate Company has confirmed that the new Bressi Ranch Shopping Center located just off Palomar Airport Road and El Fuerte, has signed a lease agreement with Trader Joe's. Talks are still ongoing with a full-sized grocery store and possibly a drug store to move into this center, but have not yet been confirmed.
Alga Norte Community Park is a 33-acre park located in the Southeast Quadrant, bordered by Palomar Airport Road, El Camino Real, and the La Costa Golf Course. The approved Master Plan includes baseball fields, a dog park, a skate park, 3 tot lots, basketball half courts, open space, a trail system, and an aquatics complex. The aquatics complex will include a competition pool, a 12-lane instruction pool, a therapy pool, and a recreation component featuring slide pools and a moving river.
Design has resumed and is anticipated to be complete by August 2006. Construction is projected to begin in Winter 2006-07, with a park opening in Summer 2008.
