La Quinta's Housing Market Appears Healthy
As reported by The Desert Sun on May 18, 2010, Bob Thomas, lead field consultant for Real Data Strategies, shared his insights on how each city in the Coachella Valley fared in the real estate market for the last two years.
La Quinta is doing well with 306 sales for the first quarter in 2010, pushing a 31 percent increase year-over-year from 2009 and 28 percent from 2008 when 238 sales were reported. Thomas believes there are signs of fairly good recovery, given the list-to-price ratio at 93 percent. Sales price is up 7.2 percent, rising to $510,476 from $476,147 in 2009. But it's off 32 percent from $760,220 in 2008. Of the sales this year, 204 of the sales were under $500,000.
