Can Droid Give the iPhone and Blackberry a Run for Their Money?

In addition to the Apple iPhone and RIM's Blackberry, Motorola decided to jump into the smart phone fray with their own version: the Droid.  I'm sure you have seen the commercials: robots pushing buttons at rapid speed and then the one mechanized word you hear "DROID!"  But can the Droid give the iPhone and Blackberry a run for their money?

Droids come standard with high speed mobile browsing, ability to run several apps at one time, Google search by voice, a touch screen and a 5MP camera with DVD-quality video.  Additionally, the Droids are preloaded with the Facebook, Google Maps, Google Search by Voice and YouTube, Amazon MP3 Store apps ready to go.  For those users who are not interested in using the touch screen, it slides up revealing a keypad underneath.  The camera has a 4x digital zoom, dual LED flash, auto focus and image editing tools.  It also allows you to play music, stream video and audio and captures video at DVD quality rate (720x480 resolution).  With a 16 GB memory, you can save alot of information on this little guy.

Are there any Droid users out there?  If so, I'd love to hear why I should drop my iPhone and consider trying out the Droid in its place.  Please let me know if you think Droid can give the iPhone and Blackberry a run for their money.

I have the Droid and I love it.  Better then the Blackberry, in my opinion.  I never had an iphone so I cannot compare.

A droid is on my list as soon as I get around to buying one.  They are cool!  They can almost cook to eggs and whip up some pancakes!

Heather,

I need a very simple phone. I find them hard to read, and very time consuming to read. A laptop is much better, and quicker.

I love my Blackberry but maybe I'll look at a Droid when it's time for a replacement.

Heather- I own a Blackberry. But, I do think that the droid phone looks quite interesting.
