THEY SAY OLD PEOPLE DON'T BLOG AND I LOVE MY NEW SHOES

OK I know I am on the right path with this blogging thing because according to a recent survey, only a small percentage of us are doing it and I am admiring my new shoes while typing this.

Anytime you are doing what others won't or don't (and it is legal and ethical) you know you are on the right path.

OK NAR has about 1.3 million members.  Should we double that for the agents who are not REALTORS® OK lets say about 2 million Real Estate Professionals and less than 10% of us are blogging.  According to the experts that amount cuts in half after age 30. Geesh! I'm feeling dinosaurish!
So that means 4 -6% of us are blogging.  I think that may be a high estimate.

It's no secret that those who are active here are doing well on the internet and hasn't it been established that the internet is replacing the newspaper and those little magazines in the supermarket for buyers of real estate.

Successful people do what unsuccessful people don't.  So when you feel like skipping blogging for something else remember that you can actually have fun while building your business.  I think I am going to start blogging in the backyard with a smoothie, MANDATORY! (while the weather is good)

If things work out the way they do, then a good part of the 4-6% of us blogging will make our fair share 90% of the money.  Maybe or maybe not, but it definitely won't work for you if you don't do it.

Maybe I am just a newly strung-out blog addict trying to justify my addiction or maybe we are really on to something.  Probably both, in any case.... I'M IN, I'M HOOKED AND I LIKE IT!

Sharon.  Bloggins is great.  Now if 4-6% of us are blogging.  Fine.  But, that begs the question, what % of the public are reading our blogs?

Or, are we just talking to each other, like a forum?  The NAR study that started this thing always talks about Realtors, or what they "think" they know about Realtors.

Question is, what does the NAR know about the public?

MMMmmmmmmmmm

Sharon welcome to the world of blogging it's addictive, it is motivating, it helps me sharpen my business skills, it gets me out in my community, I could go on lol. In any case, I also wanted to add to something Lenn said. We may not have a lot of people reading (consumers)....yet. But more are than I expected, I can tell you that. And when I think of all the mailings and other forms of marketing I have done, this is by far more rewarding (see examples above for instance) and the percentage of 'contacts' from other vehicles is not high either. So it's a win-win as far as I can see. Sharon, we should all be as lucky to be as good a blogger as Lenn!  Welcome to the blogosphere!

There is a NAR study that says that 4% of us blog.  I do know that there are members of the public that are finding some of my blog entires here.  But, as pointed out by Lenn, are there enough?  I wonder if my voice is being heard by more than a few people.

I don't know the percentage of readers for "consumer land", but aren't we all consumers too? If we find a few good people to refer to, or chose as our next agent for ourselves, then this worked......

I already know which AR member will be my next-Agent.....if he finds me a "house with trees, and no people nearby"......and I found him from Blogging.

I think blogging is contagious like the flu. I already know a few people that I have told about this website will get infected by the bloging bug just like me.

Ok I have been on a slight detox from blogging.  It seems like everytime I come on, the phone rings or I have to go on the never-ending search for the right property.  Boy did I miss the Rain this weekend and only had 15 minutes o since then.  I have exactly two minutes and  I feel like a drunk who just got out of the drunk tank and took a swig of moonshine.  Aah How sweet it is!
