Realtors and their cell phones are a dangerous mix. That simple.
Oprah Winfrey has jumped in the middle of this problem by creating NO Phone Zone. Everyone one of you reading this post has or is currently using their phone while driving. I feel strongly that we as an industry of professionals need to create our own NO Phone Zone or join Oprah's.
We have all heard the news stories about someone who was killed by a driver who was either texting or using their cell phone. Last year here in Ocala, Fl a school bus was rear ended by a truck by a driver using a cell phone. A young girl died. The driver was not a bad person, just someone who made a bad choice.
How many times a day do you make a bad choice and talk on your phone? And for those who text and drive I just can't put it into words.
There is not one deal or one client important enough to make a call while driving. If you support this please send an email to NAR to encourage them to develop a Realtor NO Phone Zone. At the very least have your Board devlope their own and start a local campaign. Just DO IT!
