I attending the Grand Opening of the Hylton Performing Arts Center at George Mason University on Friday night. The building in and of itself is a work of art, constructed out of stone and copper. That theme is carried on inside with paint colors of purples and metallic coppers. Artwork, in various mediums, graced the lobby and the walls and gave you the impression of being in a museum. The theater is beautiful with not a bad seat in the house. The opening night act of "Leahy" performed and were fantastic. The group of 8 brothers and sisters, of Irish/Scottish decent, graced the stage by playing various instruments to include: fiddles, violins, guitars, piano and drums, dancing and singing. It was a very enjoyable night with many more great shows planned for the year.

Lauren: I saw Leahy play in Flint, Michigan once, but the venue wasn't as beautiful as the one you described. It sounds wonderful, thank you for sharing! :)

Lauren, I went to an event last year. A dinner to celebrate Robert Burns with Hagish Ugh. The bag pipe players and traditional dancers in kilts and daggers were performing on stage. It sounds like you had a wonderful time.
