Post Flood

It's been an incredible few weeks.

Nashville is again open for business!  And that is a feat in itself - after 15 inches of rain over 36 hours and extentive flooding.  A good part of downtown was flooded - even the Opry House and the new symphony hall.  The Titans football stadium had 6 feet of water.  One of the two water plants was shut down - and water conservation efforts put into effect.

FEMA came in quickly and went to the people!  No trailer where the victims had to stand in line and wait for a turn.

Tennesseans once again opened their hearts, wallets and gave time freely to help those who lost homes and possessions in the flood.  Neighbor helping neighbor.  Little or no looting.  This is truly a great place to live!

I am proud to be a native Nashvillian, and a resident of the great state of Tennessee.

Good news, glad things are getting back in order. It must feel great to see in times of crisis how neighbors pull together. I remember the positive feelings I felt to be a New Yorker after Sept 11, it helps to ease the pain of the tragedy.
