Don't allow Prayer at Graduation!

Real Estate Sales Representative with REALTY WORLD-Harbert Company, Inc.

A student at a Greenwood IN high school sued the school district saying a school-sanctioned prayer at graduation was unconstitutional.  A majority of students voted in favor of a prayer.  What is that I said???  A majority!!  Part of what America's principles have been founded on, a democracy.

No Prayer In Schools

The Greenwood High School's principal in the past has required students to submit their speeches in advance for review.  This year they are lifting this practice.  I only hope and pray that some students take this and run with it, not in profanity, but to speak of never allowing the majority to be defeated again when it comes to prayer in school.

There are enough drugs, violence, bullying, etc. in school, without taking something that the majority in this high school wanted, voted on and believed in.

I used to teach high school Biology and I can tell you that keeping prayer out of schools is a HUGE mistake.  Everyone needs to study the history of this nation and see that we WERE founded on solid Christian principles!  Arg!

Heather, great post (and picture!). I absolutely agree with you. Isn't it amazing that the more "tolerance" is preached, the less tolerant those preaching it are...

More opinions than you want to hear about.

I agree, everyone should be required to pray in school, not just one prayer, but an entire rosary.  In keeping with democratic principles, the requirement should only exist in schools where a majority of the students are Catholic.

Our forefathers sought to refuse the right to vote to Catholics, even Catholic (white) men, and it's time for Catholics to take their share of America.  Many big city schools are a majority Catholic.  Let's have Catholic prayer wherever 50% plus one is Catholic.

On the back of a $2 dollar bill with the photo of all those who were present in a room at the signing of the declaration of independance is a crucifix hanging on the back wall! the story behind the photo was that they all joined in saying a prayer before signing!

why should we change historical precidence - the currency we use records proof of prayer and faith of our founding fathers.

great post Heather

Oh my gosh... First they try to take out "One nation under God" from the pledge of allegiance, now this?! There is NO tolerance, no peace, NOTHING! I get mocked at my school just because I'm Christian. That torment should be good enough. To take out what little we have, would be utter suicide. That kid that sued needs to man up, and deal with it! >=(

(Oh, btw, GREAT DRAWING! =D)

God spare us...
