Supra Lockbox Activity Week Ending 5/16/10

NOTE:  The Supra Lockbox is the magic access key that allows agents to open the doors on listed property.  It also keeps statistics, and as you can see, there has been an INCREASE in activity for Oregon, which also includes Portland, OR real estate activity.  The Metro Porltand market is the largest in the State.  But this is an all encompassing Statewide stat.  Keep in mind:  This does NOT mean that sales, closed transaction, inventory have INCREASED or DECREASED.

In last week's (week ending 5/9/10) report I wrote: This is another week ending with a considerable dip in home showing activity.  With a decrease of -17.3%, there is certainly a result of the lack of consumer confidence.  Although the tax credit incentive is now over, Buyers need to think about the plus of low interest rates, and home pricing that can make a difference.  It's a good time to consult with a local Realtor(r), and if you're fence straddling, I've had quite a few Buyers who were considering a purchase a while ago . . . now with them watching the market, they feel it's a good time to begin their home search in earnest.

Okay, so this week ending report shows a slight uptick in the amount of times RMLS Members used their Supra Lockbox key.  We all assume they used it in showing property, so the amount of buyers who were actively looking at properties was UP from last week by 6.4%.  This means, slightly more than 1,000 over last week.  The good news is that it's UP . . . for the past two consecutive weeks, the percentages were off quite a bit. 

BUYERS:  What that means for you . . . the properties you have interest in might / might not have the level of activity as expected.  These showings are for the RMLS Supra lockbox in the state.  The Portland, OR real estate market might have slightly higher levels of activity.

SELLERS:  Check and see with your listing agent if the STAT above is holding true with your property.  Are you getting any more showings, or has activity level dropped??
