Thank You Montreal Canadiens for a Gr8 Playoffs Run!

So I did see lots of seven's in the past 7 days!

I was hoping that was meant for the Montreal Canadiens to win in 7 games for the third series in a row but with the Cinderella story coming to an end, I came to the realization that was meant for team ranked #7, the Philadelphia Flyers.  Also, Montreal (the team ranked 8th in the Eastern Conference) was eliminated 7 wins short of the Stanley Cup.

Congratulations to the Flyers aka the Broad Street Bullies for winning the Eastern Conference Final series.

THANK YOU to the Montreal Canadiens for an incredible run (their best run since 1993) in the playoffs . You were Gr8 despite the defeat.   After all, they made history by being the underdogs and managing to eliminate back to back the best team during the regular season (Washington Capitals) and last year's Stanley Cup Champions (Pittsburgh Penguins).   Flyers can also thank them for taking two of the leagues best teams and gr8tly improving their chances to making it in the Stanley Cup Final.

Canadiens de Montreal

Special thanks to Jaroslav Halak and Michael Cammalleri (two of the stars for Montreal in this year's playoffs).

I will be watching the Stanley Cup Final but no more hockey posts, at least not till next year's playoffs!  :-)

Merci encore et A la prochaine!

Jenny,

Thank you for keeping me in suspense.   Feel free to post it on your blog to see if it works.  I am dying to find out the souvenir you brought back from Montreal!

Gerry - You had a fantastic run with 7s, 77777777777777777777777, seven, sept, etc. :)

Ah, 1993, the last year that the Blue Jays won the World Series.

Can you read my Armenian script above?  Does it show up on your computer?  I'm not sure if you are fluent in both written and spoken Armenian.  Next line is a romanization of the text.

Barev Gerry, inch’pes yek’ sirum im hayeren: Yes sksum e sovorel grel hayeren.

Below is an English translation.  Do the two versions translate well?

Hi Gerry, how do you like my Armenian? I am starting to learn to write in Armenian.

What??? Cinderella's story coming to an end??? (: It must be someone else's story coming to an end.  Which evil character is causing this problem?  I'll need to make arrangements to get the story going again! ;)

Marc,

I remember 1993, living in Toronto and the last year the Blue Jays (now Jays) won the World Series.    :)

Marc,

You sure now how to cheer me up!   :)

It is not exactly right but very close!   I would have understood it in Armenian only but could tell it is a word for word trnaslation and sometimes different then coming up with the correct full sentence.  Funny enough, I just found out very recently (7 days to be exact) that they are now tools for translation to Armenian on the Internet.

A+ (ա+) for the effort!

Marc,

We know very well that we got acquainted with each other thanks to Cinderella.   Those evil step sisters trying to end the Cinderella story!   They will not succeed to do so with regards to our dedication and love for Cinderella.  :)

Gerry - Now you know my secret.  Last time I tried to translate English to Armenian, Google Translate did not offer Armenian and I couldn't find anywhere else.  When I went there this morning, I was quite surprised that they now have an ALPHA version translator available for Armenian as well as four or five other less common languages.  Do you use the same translator?  (I really shouldn't tell you my translation secrets but as you know, machine translation cannot be relied on fully.  I often use it to translate Quebec government documents and websites to get a reasonable feel for the information I am reading.)

Marc,

I recently noticed the addition of Armenian translation to the Google Translate tool.   I was curious to see how good it would translate the contents of a website, to verify its effectiveness.   Other than that, I don't use the translator much but it is sure nice to see someone else take the time to translate in a foreign language to make a nice impression.  :)

Nick,

I was hoping for a Habs against Hawks final series but I am happy for the Hawks fan and especially you.

Interesting enough if you take the "b" out of Habs and replace it with "wk" you get Hawks.  So it is only a small change for me to root for the Hawks now and say "Go Hawks Go" instead of "Go Habs Go!"    :)
