HOME STAGING IS NOT JUST FOR THE HIGH END LUXURY MARKET. EVERY HOME CAN BE STAGED!
Staging is not decorating. Staging is marketing one's home like a product, in the same way that when you market your car for sale, you wash it, wax it, detail it, even if the car has never been detailed before when you decide to sell it. One would never think of advertising their automobile in the newspaper, "AS IS" ... with all the tossed floorboard gumwrappers included!
When preparing your home for the market, Barb Schwarz, the Creator of the home staging industry in the US. recommends that sellers walk across the street from one's house to take a fresh look at your house before you put it up for sale. If possible, step into the neighbors yard to get a good view of the whole front of your house, and then ask yourself, if you were buying today, does the curb appeal make you want to buy your home today? Or is there some washing and detailing that needs to be done first?
One can love a shiny, new car. Here my daughter Lori demonstrates her affection for her new car.
Staging a home gives it that shiny new appeal to home buyers. When one buys a "new" home, it can be even more exciting than buying a new car. Make it appeal to buyers. STAGE IT!
