HOME STAGING IS NOT JUST FOR THE HIGH END LUXURY MARKET. EVERY HOME CAN BE STAGED!

Staging is not decorating.  Staging is marketing one's home like a product, in the same way that when you market your car for sale, you wash it, wax it, detail it, even if the car has never been detailed before when you decide to sell it.  One would never think of advertising their automobile in the newspaper, "AS IS" ... with all the tossed floorboard gumwrappers included!

When preparing your home for the market, Barb Schwarz, the Creator of the home staging industry in the US. recommends that sellers walk across the street from one's house to take a fresh look at your house before you put it up for sale. If possible, step into the neighbors yard to get a good view of the whole front of your house, and then ask yourself, if you were buying today, does the curb appeal make you want to buy your home today?  Or is there some washing and detailing that needs to be done first?

One can love a shiny, new car. Here my daughter Lori demonstrates her affection for her new car.  new car

Staging a home gives it that shiny new appeal to home buyers.  When one buys a "new" home, it can be even more exciting than buying a new car.  Make it appeal to buyers.  STAGE IT!

I have gound that staging the lower end homes gets people interested faster. I guess that buyers expect a high end home to be staged. Great post...love your daughter's car

Great post!

In today's buyers market, sellers need to stand out from all the other homes for sale.

Mary Lou,  You are so right about lower end homes gets people interested.  Peope are so surprised when a lower end home or apt for that matter is actually showstopping move-in ready!  I think people do expect more of the higher end homes, but that makes the surprise on the lower end that much better.  My daughter will be pleased that you love her car, too.

Ryan,  I agree completely that sellers need to outshine the competition!

Beverly,

Detail your home like you would detail your car!!!  A home that shows as is only brings an as is price.  I agree make your home look it's best so it will SHINE and SELL!!!
