I love real estate!

I love making music.

I spend many hours every day working on my craft anad learning to become a better Realtor & Real Estate Consultant. I spend many hours in my home studio studying recording engineering creating music. Even though this is fun for me…..It is still work.

So last week, I took a few days off and went fishing. Myself and six other guys loaded up a 16 passenger van with coolers, fishing rods, tackle boxes, snacks and oh yeah…..and overnight bags. We left Philadelphia around 7:30 pm heading to Hyannis, MA. After several stops for gas and Fishing Tripbathroom breaks, we made it to the dock around 3:30am. And you would think that we would be the first people there (considering that the boat would not leave until 6:30am)

…….and you would be WRONG!

Two car loads of fisherman were there before us (Diehards!! :). We were going to be fishing on the Helen H a 100’ Supercruiser.

When we left the dock at 6:30am, it was raining, windy and cold. The water was rough and we spent 5+ hours with the boat pitching & rolling as we tried to fish. The fishing was good, however….I wasn’t. Being a former Navy man, I pride myself on not getting seasick, but I was feeling a little queasy. I fished for a few hours and called it quits.

After a hot shower and a good meal and a good night’s sleep, I was ready to try it again the next day. If there ever was a perfect day of fishing, day #2 was it. The weather was warm, the water was calm, and the fish were Waiting To board fishing boatbiting like crazy….what more could I ask for? After two days of fishing, we loaded our coolers full of fish into the van and headed back to Philadelphia.

For several days, I was relaxing, unwinding and not working. Did my business fall apart while I was gone? Absolutely not. I received several offers and a couple of new listings and a new buyer client.

The point of this story is;

Take time out to have fun.

Life is short. Before you know it, it will be over.

So slow down, take some time off and relax. Forget about work for a few days. It will be there when you get back.

Leander: Thanks for sharing- I enjoyed the pictures, too.  You are right- it is important to recharge the batteries now & then.  I like activities that don't require getting up so early, though!  :)

Leander, sounds like a great way to start the warm weather season. As a bonus, you've got some fish for the grill too. It's going to be a great summer.

@ David -I agree....not getting up early should be a part of the plan when recharging :)

@Malcolm - I am looking forward to getting some fish on grill.  The first ones headed into the hot bubbling oil and were delicious

Leander, I am all about taking some time to relax and recharge but please don't make me fish I could go on a boat for a few hours but no fish.  I know a great sea food market all clean and no heads.

@Liz - I hear ya.  I said to my wife when I got back...I had a great time, but I know you would not like it at all :).  The seafood market is a good alternative for some

Have a great day

Leander, It is so important to factor "me time" into your business plan, or we would all go crazy!

I hope to go "splash" my boat for the weekend, and plan on using it more this year!

Leander - Its a great idea to take some time for yourself. Looks like it paid off, caught yourself quite a few fish.
