I just had to share a funny experience I had this morning at my office. I am hosting a contract class that is open to all local agents. On the flyer and email it clearly asks everyone to RSVP to ensure a spot in the class. The class was taught by a local expert so you know the class will sell out. I had 51 confirmed people signed up for the class, and the classroom was full.
So this morning, we had almost 20 people who were not signed up for the class show up and say that they called/emailed/talked to someone about attending the class. So now the class is over-packed and I had to turn several registered guests away.
Luckily the ones I turned away were really late and we were able to tell them that we allowed the waiting list to go in to the class.
Has this ever happened to you? What steps did you take to overcome this challenge?
I have to remember, that when a class says RSVP, I should always RSVP and never assume.
:) Chris
