Last Friday late afternoon I received a phone call from a home seller that on Monday the real estate photographer would come, but she did not feel that the house was quite there yet to put it on the market and if I could help her last minute. On Sunday I stopped over for the initial consultation. I could tell that she had done already a lot of work decluttering, but I had to agree with her that the house was not quite there yet. We rolled up our sleeves and transformed and updated the house as much as possible. Some of the small necessary repairs could not be done due to the short time frame.
It is so important that these little things are fixed before the house gets on the market as you have only ONE change to make a great first impression. You don't want home buyers to leave your house with a long mental "to-do-list" - get those simple fixes done before putting it on the market. Once you know you want to sell your home, it is always a good idea to have a home stager come to your house for a consultation to get an understanding what buyers are looking for and what fixes will give you the greatest return on investment. Don't wait until the last minute.
