The Dash....

We've all heard the saying, "stop and smell the roses along the way." We all get caught up in our daily lives. For those of us in real estate, it might be hard to stop and smell the roses....when we are just trying to keep the boat afloat.

I often find myself stopping and saying, I need to take time off. But, time off means not working. There are some systems starting to fall in place that allow blog posts to show up automatically, and that makes me feel like I am still working. But it seems that gone (or at least temporarily) are the days of travel, and other fun things.

So, when I got this e-mail this morning, with The Dash Movie, I once again had to think....

....and share with you.

What a touching video. When my brother passed away, it was that dash that held my glare. It represented his life and all that he had meant to all of us when he was with us. Thanks for the reminder on what's truly important in life.

And I know you, Thom, and just how hard you work. Please take time this weekend for yourself.

Thanks for posting this Thom.......it's been a while since I've seen it. This week I was lucky to get to keep my two year old grandson while his parents went on an anniversary trip. It really got me thinking how out of balance I am and commit to making some much needed changes. Hope you have a super weekend!

Thom, what a beautiful post - both the pictures and the thoughts that go along with them.

Very beautiful Thom! It reminds of the saying "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away." Have a great weekend.

Thom, that is a great poem!  This is a great time to pause and think what will my dash contain?  Great job!

Kathy: Off to Montana bright and early tomorrow. I'll have fun, but one of my carry-on's is all work related stuff!

Ann: I'll bet you had fun. My nephews have kids that are in their teens....

Pat: I thought it was a nice piece with an awesome message. I had seen it before but had forgot about it.

Barb: Another great phrase indeed.

Tony: If things don't change in real estate soon, my dash is gonna be short....

There are SO many things in life that matter... and so few of them are the things most of us are sweating over.
