THE PLANE FOLKS WELCOME YOU!
DeKalb Peachtree Airport's Annual
Good Neighbor Day Airshow and Open House
June 5, 2010
12:00 noon - 5:00 PM
This year's airshow sponsor, the Jim Ellis Automotive Group Atlanta, has gone over-the-top to provide you with what will truly be a World Class Airshow. Committals to this year's airshow include The Misty Blues all women's skydiving team, superb formation flying by Team AeroShell and Team RV and single-plane acts including Greg Koontz in the Super Decathlon, Clem Cleaver and the Alabama Boys in the Super Cub, Pat Epps in his aerobatic Bonanza, Larry King in his super-charged Pitts biplane. After a four year absence we are pleased to announce that the Red Eagle Air Sports Team is back. This is an airshow you don't want to miss. It will be our best airshow ever!
Thanks to the generous support of the Atlanta Helicopter Pilots Association our static display line will be second to none. Attractions include a generous supply of restored antique planes, World War II warriors including the A-26, Spirit of North Carolina, Commemorative Air Force airplanes including the P-51, P-47, TBM Avenger, and the British Sea Fury. Aircraft currently in the military inventory include the A-10, F/A-18, C-130 and H-53. Additionally DeKalb's own fire trucks, police vehicles, ambulances, and helicopters galore.
Visitors may view booths and exhibits in the Epps Hangar, and buy food and soft drinks from Briarlake Baptist Church. Food will also be available in the on-site restaurants, The Downwind, located in the Administration Building and the 57th Fighter Group Restaurant. There will also be plenty of play activities for children.
There is no admission to Good Neighbor Day; parking is $5.00 per vehicle regardless of the number of occupants. To ease traffic congestion there will be two entrance points this year. Vehicles may enter via Dresden Drive until 1:30 P.M. and via Clairmont Road all day.
In the interest of safety and security, all containers such as backpacks, coolers, etc. are subject to search and may, if unattended, be removed from the premises. Also, anyone wanting to ride on airplanes or helicopters will be subject to the same security restrictions placed on airline passengers. We regret the inconvenience, but safety & security is important for a wonderful and fun Good Neighbor Day.
