Nemours Mansion and Gardens
The Nemours Mansion and Gardens in Wilmington, Delaware, reopened in May after three years and a $39 million renovation.
Alfred I. du Pont (1864-1935) built the estate as an enclave for himself and his wife. It contains 77 rooms and 47,000 square feet. Dolores and I toured the mansion and grounds on Saturday morning. You will want to visit when you are in the Wilmington area. Be sure to make advance reservations for a tour. www.NemoursMansion.org.
