If you missed it, we're inviting AR members to participate in our Nationwide survey.  Those who participate and complete the requirements, get to earn an easy 1,000 points.  Part of the requirements is the writing of a blog about your market area.  The other requirements can be found here.

Below is a chart showing the current status of those participating.  One thing to note is that not everyone has completed all of the requirements to earn their 1,000 points.  In fact, if you'll look closely at the chart, very few have completed all the information needed! 

What that means for you is that YOU have a window of opportunity to jump in and earn 1,000 easy bonus points.  Just be the first person to reply to this post or to the original and to complete all the requirements and you're good to go!  Of course, those who have already begun the task, can easily finish up by posting the missing information or blog...if they are paying attention!

Never was great at following rules to a "T".... so if I say that our market is "Moderate" am I done? Or do I need to consolidate and republish the results to be "done"? I went back and reread the rules, which does seem to imply a "write about the results"....but since the survey isn't complete, I'd be writing about an incomplete data set.....How about if I promise to write/publish when it's done and you can yank the points if I don't?

I'm not the contest guy, but I enjoyed this. I edited my blog to include the following verbiage:

How would I characterize the Colts Neck real estate market?

  • Our phones are still RINGING here at Weichert Realtors.
  • But the market action is MODERATE.
  • We are seeing sellers REDUCING the list prices of their homes and
  • Discerning buyers are still BUYING, yet
  • Prices are HOLDING. 

So I think I've met all the requirements.

Phones are ringing - again.

Prices are stablizing in the lower end with a slight upturn,  priced still dropping in the  mid and upper end.

The Active Rain Realtor Nationwide Survey about Illinois

I had this posted in about the first hour...the post name was different from what I put here, sorry.

As I look across the only blank I see is Market which is Moderate, which I put in above? Am I being obtuse? (which is entirely possible)!!!

But to summarize:

Phones: Ringing (everyone wants a deal!)

Market: Moderate Assumes I go across the price ranges -- many more transactions at <$400,000, some $400,000 - $700,000, $700,000 + is just plain tough.

Seller: Selling, but depends on price point, see above

Buyers: Buying Lots of activity, some transactions especially under $400,000.

Prices: Down   (year over year at all prices over about $350,000)

Market conditions show prices are holding and buyers are buying.

HI wow, I guess I missed a couple of things:

The phone is occasionally ringing.

Sellers are selling. Provided that they are well priced and show at least reasonably well. And provided that they are under about $750,000. Over that number it's pretty dead. Below that number, it gets exponentially better the lower you go. Hope this fixes my deficiencies, and a million thanks to John Novak for having my back!!!!
