A different example of flipping...

By
Home Stager with Home Harmony

When you think of flipping you think of buying a property and fixing it up for resale. When Home Harmony is flipping it might well be the bedspread and curtains that get flipped. What is a girl to do when you have nothing to work with ? And too much blue ? Or too many patterns ?

Don't be shy to look underneath or at the other side of something. It may be just what you need.

Here are just a few examples. I have to admit to being shocked when the girls suggested flipping the curtains.

I have gotten past the looks we get from people when we look under their bed coverings.

What about you ? Do you flip bedding ? Curtains ? Anything else ?

Amazing the ideas you can come up with when there is little to nothing to work with.

That's when Home Harmony is most CREATIVE!

You had to see the look on this Elderly Women's face when she enter the room to see her beadspread upside down!

Did you have to take the leopard away from them by tooth and nail, or was it a cat walk?  (Yeah, lousy pun, but that leopard really attracted my eye.)

Hi Michelle,  What a clever post!  You saved your clients lots of money just by "flipping" what they already had to make the rooms less "taste specific".  Good work!

Agree...I've "flipped" many a comforter and when I do the walk thru the seller and/or agent are initially looking at me a little strange when I've checking the back side of the comforter for "potential"!!

Oh yes, I have had to "flip" lots of things. Pillows even, just by turning them around and using the back side, which in many cases is solid in color. You have done a great flipping job..

So far we haven't needed to do 'flipping' yet but from the look of your photos, it's very effective. Thanks for the idea!

Thanks for all your comments. I chuckle as I imagine us all checking under the bedspread. Last week we even covered an old bedspread with a sheet. Have you ever tried using the pillow cases as window dressing ? At least they match.

Barb, I never really thought about it as making the room feel larger. I usually think of it more as not being so distracting, but you are right.
