MSNBC is taking a poll on support for Arizona's tough new law on Illegals.  I refuse to call them immigrants because they have done nothing to apply for immigration. They are just illegal.

Please go to this website to vote. The POLL is only one question.

Please re-blog this and answer and pass this on to others so their voices may be heard, too. Thank you!

Also, check out my previous post on illegals in Arizona.

Thanks, Georgia, for your comments.  Today we will see what Pres. Obama has to say when he finally meets with Arizona Governor Brewer. It should be noted that Obama had to adjust his schedule to make time for Governor Brewer.

I was shocked that over 95% of the people in the poll agree with the law.  Always thought MSNBC viewers were mostly a bunch of left wing liberals. Just shows the American people's frustration with this situation.

Georgia- you are correct, there are folks willing to do the jobs.

What ever happened to hiring the neighborhood kid to mow the lawn???  Um, super cheap, lawn companies employing illegals.

I still pay a bit more to employ the boy down the street to handle all my yard work.  I can trust him, he is LEGAL, he speaks English and does a great job.

Not sure have I feel about the new law in Arizon but I can this country was settled by a bunch of out cast.  We should be real careful about the laws we pass and lets remember what makes this a The Best Place in the World to Live!

Michael -- You are right, there were outcasts among the early settlers here. However, there were some very smart men who finally drew the country together, fought for and founded our great country.

The Arizona SB 1070 is not NEW law. It merely makes federal laws that are already on the books enforcable in our state. It is an attempt to provide enforcement of the laws that the feds are choosiing not to enforce.

The legal framework on which our country is based creates the basis for civil rights and property rights which allows the whole country to work together for our prosperity. When laws are not enforced, the process breaks down, as is the current status.

I have no problem with legal immigration, which I believe is to your point.  The illegals here and on their way in are NOT IMMIGRANTS they are simply violators of our law which needs to be inforced.

What is amazing is how little the general public and our elected officials seem to know about this law.  I understand it is not even as strict as the federal law.

When I took the poll it was at 95% yes.

Thanks, Marchel, for your comment.  I believe the Arizona Law was written in such a way that it does not extend the federal law. They designed it to withstand the inevitable court challenges. Even if the law gets stuck down, it focuses attention on the problem. Obama's response is racking up oposition to all candidates in Arizona and in other states, as well.
