Extreme Trail
The fast-growing sport of "Extreme Trail, Mountain Trail or Competitive Trail" is here to
stay in Florida. A second Extrenfte course will open its gates on June 12 with a clinic
taught by the nationally recogn zed horseman, Mark Bolender of Bolender Horse Park in
Washington State. This will solid:lify Florida as an Extreme Trail destination.
I
Bolender also designed and built the only other Extreme course in Florida, located in
Ocala, which is owned and ope~ated by Lynn Palm and her husband Cyril Pittion
Rossillon. When Palm and Rossl"on saw Bolender's course in Washington State they
realized the great potential for training of every discipline. They immediately arranged
for Bolender to design and build a course on their farm in Ocala.
I
The new course in Palm City is "the most technically difficult course built in the United
States at this point, yet it has a level of difficulty that will be used by every level of
rider", said Bolender. Bolender also says the new course, "was not designed to
intimidate but to challenge the rorse and rider."
Bolander designed this new course to challenge and stimulate participants. Jack Peeples
of Fox Trails Farm, a recognize~ horseman himself, and who owns and operates the
new Extreme Trail at his farm i~ Palm City has added his own personal touches to the
course.
The sport of Extreme Trail is not just your morning trail ride. It requires boldness and
confidence on the part of the hbrse and rider. To see a horse picking his way through
highly challenging obstacles with composure and confidence is truly a beautiful image
to behold.
You can participate in this sport in both English and Western styles. It's fun, exciting
and challenging for riders at eJery level. And it's addictive! It's as much fun to watch as
it is to ride.
This new Extreme course in Palm City is located at 4451 S.W. Boatramp Road. Please
contact Lee Sampson at 772-215-3989 or Mark Bolender at 360-269-5699 for more
information.
