BUSINESSES CARE FOR WE CARE

Businesses in Chapin have designated June 7th 11th as Businesses Care for We Care week.
Chapin area businesses have organized to promote and bring awareness to the need of restocking the We Care food pantry. We Care, established in 1986, works with individuals and families in the community facing emergencies in their basic living needs. We Care serves as an outreach ministry for churches in Chapin, Little Mountain, White Rock and Prosperity.
Businesses are asking everyone in the surrounding Chapin area to consider giving non-perishable foods to individuals and families in need at a time when the food pantry is running very low.

Items most needed are Peanut Butter, Jelly, Salmon, Pork & Beans, Vienna Sausages, Mixed Vegetables, Beef Stew, Chicken & Dumplings, Progresso Soup (for larger families) and, as always, any donation will be Greatly Appreciated.

At this time, the following businesses will be collecting food and will be drop-off points to receive your food and/or monetary donations.

SPOTLIGHT ARTIST FOR JUNE: "BEAR CREEK BRIDGE", AN OIL BY RUBY HAYDOCK DELOACH

Ruby Haydock DeLoach is a retired educator who received a B.A from Winthrop University, a M.Ed. & Ed.D from the University of South Carolina and has worked for the SC Dept. of Mental Retardation, Lexington & Richland District Five and Newberry County schools.

She has been an active member of Crooked Creek Art League for the past four years, serving as Gallery Coordinator and Parliamentarian.

Ruby paints in oils and watercolors and is beginning to explore acrylics. A new dormer allows the morning light to enter her Art Party Studio in Dutchman Shores. Passionate feelings direct her brush. Her works are inspired by memories, travels, antiques, landscapes, wild flowers, garden flowers and critters that inhabit her yard beside Lake Murray. She designs and paints an annual Christmas card and one was featured in the Chapin Library Gallery. She has a line of Art-Tees from original works to sell to fellow flower and bird lovers. She is currently working on a children's book.

Ruby is an award winning artist who exhibits her work at Carolina's Got Art, Saluda Shoals Park & the SC State Fair. She finds it a joy to be a part of Palmetto Fine Arts' focus on the talents of artists in the local Chapin Community. Join her and fellow artists for their April, August and November Shows. Prints of "Bear Creek Bridge" on Amick's Ferry Rd. are available on her webpage at www.ChapinArts.com/RubyDeLoach

A YART Party will be announced soon.
Come by the Chamber House to see her work.
