Last week I spent Memorial Day Weekend in Washington DC.  I have lots of pictures that I need to take the time to post and share, but this one I felt could not wait.  It is of the Washington DC Cathedral and it is an incredible structure.  Many of you might have seen it or have been to it when in Washington, but for those of you that have not it is truly a must see when in Washington DC.

Esko, yes I did and I hope to have time to post some of them.

Ann, it is even more amazing on the inside.

Sally, you will not be disappointed if you ever make the trip.

Neal the bikers were there again this year, miles of them.  In fact I almost got caught in a traffic jam the day we went to see this Cathedral because of all the bikers.

Bill it even looks bigger in person than it does in the picture.

William, glad I could bring back some of those memories.  You will have to make the trip again and make some new memories.  there are a lot of new things to see in Washington over the last 10 years.

Ann, I will have to go through them and see if there are any worth posting.  My wife took those and her idea of a good picture and mine are very different ;)

George... The architecture alone is breath taking.  The work it took to make this is priceless.  You will NEVER see this erected like this today..

George, that is a very impressive building. We were in it years ago, and it is on a par with many of the older cathedrals of Europe. Thanks for sharing

Ed, it is worth seeing again.  They have tours of it now, but we arrived to late.  I am sure that there were areas of the Cathedral that we did not see, and it would of been great to have heard about its history.

George - what a wonderful photo. The cathedral is such an amazing building - it always reminded me of the cathedrals in Europe! I haven't been there in many years. Hope you had a great trip!

Neal, I did not mind all the bikes, they made the weekend even a little more special.

Steve it will be well worth your time.

Nick, now that sounds like a winning combination.  You get to see some great sites, and meet an ActiveRain member at the same time.

Ann lets just say that I had to delete more picture that she took then I kept ......... LOL

George, indeed when I saw the picture, I thought that it was very reminiscent of European catherdrals, and I've never been to Europe.

Hi George,

I have been playing hooky recently, too much going on.

You are right this building certainly gets your attention.  I have seen it in many photos and news reports.

Have a great weekend.

Ann, confused, I don't know what you are talking about :)

William, maybe it was from all the pictures you have seen.

Jennifer, so maybe it is about time you see it for real :)

Gail, the detail in this building would be hard to duplicate.

Phil I believe that this building took about 100 years to construct, are you sure you have the year right ...... LOL
