Creating an Appetizing Presentation

Creating an Appetizing Presentation . . .

Vacant and occupied home staging A long time ago I did a post relating staging to a master "STAGING" chef.

"Professionally staging a vacant home for sale, to me, is like a Chef that has exceptional skills and demonstrates the ability to select the correct utensils necessary along with the freshest ingredients and hand picked spices to create an exquisite meal that appeals to the majority of palettes."

"Professionally re-designing an occupied home for sale, is like a Chef that has exceptional skills and demonstrates the ability to work with inferior, but adequate utensils, average canned goods and the standard condiments at hand to create an exquisite meal that appeals to the majority of palettes."

Peachtree Home Staging staged a a mix of both vacant and occupied homes last week, but the home that reminded me of this older post was a vacant home staging we did in Decatur, GA, a prominent area of Atlanta.

Here's some before and afters of the home:

It's beautiful, Karen. I love your decision on where you placed the furniture. It looks incredible.

Congratulations. Your home staging is being featured in the group Staging Before and After Pictures.

Karen, that fireplace room off the main room makes for tricky furniture placement - but you solved the puzzle!  Thanks for posting such large photos - they are so much more fun to look at - great job!

Hi Mary Lou -- thx for kind words -- Those hard woods were to pretty to hide!  The tile floor in the sunken room . . . not so much!

Thx Julie!

Hey Tessa --  two sitting rooms side by side to present a challenge!

No, no, no cooking Ginger!  :-)  Thx!

Hi Sally -- glad you like the large photos -- I am with you on the challenge there w/ the side by side sitting areas.  Lack of outlets as well. . . but it was a fun one none the less!

Karen ~ I remember your previous post, and think it still holds true!  This was indeed a tricky floor layout and you did a great job showing two distinct conversation areas.  (as long as I don't have to cook ....)

Great job.  What a furniture placement issue this house would provide for potential buyers, without you mapping it out for them.  I love the chef analogy!

No cooking Maureen, I promise.  Thx for the kind words.

WHOO HOO -- ultimate Design solution!  CATHY LEE -- you ROCK!

THX, Sharon!  I love analogies in general -- I am alway trying to come up with something new.

Hi Karen O. -- I use that couch quite often; this is the 4th time that I can think of.  It works well in small condo's and sunrooms.  Try it, you'll like it!

HELLO CONNIE -- thx, my dear!  BTW -- love your B&A in Kathy's contest!
