Ann, that is a simple flower, but it is beautiful in its simplicity. I don't think that I have ever seen one like that before.
So how close it this flower to blooming? I'm not familiar with it. How long til the petals open?

I am not sure how long until it is in full bloom. I will look today and see if it is blooming.

Purple Cone Flower is what I have been told it is called. They grow mainly on the prairies in Missouri

Hi Ann, It's the same thing :-) and they are used in herbal medicine cold remedies. I would love to see a prairie full of them, I bet that is a beautiful sight!
