Where are the buyers?

By
Real Estate Agent with Ronnie Perry Realty Company

Summer is soon coming to an end.  School starts soon and things should pick up.  What seems to be the problem?  Some says its the media, other say its the banks, what is it?  Sellers are disappointed in agents and buyers say homes are over priced.  Hopefully the market will pick up SOON.  Pray for a quiet HURRICANE SEASON.

What are your thoughts??

I'm telling my clients what we usually expect seasonally, but that in this market, we are really only making educated guesses as to what the next week or month will hold.  Things picked up in Minneapolis, MN greater area in July - especially early in the month, and showings seem to be picking up a bit this week.

I think some of buyers are on the sidelines waiting for the bottom to "fallout." But some of them are starting to purchase homes on beautiful Cape Cod, which is a resort and second home area. In July, my office  had one of the best months it has had in a couple of years. As a result, it is important to remember that there are millions of baby boomers out there that will purchase second homes in resort towns. But  the "doom and gloom" media attention on the state of the housing market is definitely making it difficult for some buyers to sign those offers to purchase.  Once again, the buyers are out there, but real estate agents must persevere! The buyers are coming!

I feel your pain.  Try coupling that with law makers who are doing a pathetic job keeping property taxes contained and allowing insurance companies to basically gouge the customer here in the state of FL.

YOU GO THAT RIGHT.  What about the recent FLOOD VENT Issue???  Homes with ELEVATION Certificates and are OK, but do not have FLOOD VENTS are having to PAY DOUBLE for FLood insurance.  You can view correct Flood vent issues online with FEMA.  If you don't have an elevation certificate (in order to SELL your home) you have to have it surveyed and then correct the PROBLEMS on flood vents to have an affordable FLOOD insurance premium.  Flood insurance is astronomical.    HAVE ANY SOLUTIONS??????
