Yesterday I posted a blog with a picture that I took on my recent trip to Washington DC of the exterior Washington DC Cathedral.  Ann Hayden in one of her comments asked where the pictures were of the inside of the Cathedral.  So for my friend Ann, here are four of the pictures that my wife took.  Hope you all enjoy the pictures.

Hi George,

I love the photo.  I didn't make it to the Cathedral but I too was in Washington DC for 8 days and returned last Wednesday.  I was visiting my family for the Holiday and taking a friend that joined me on a tour of the sites.  I loved DC, We toured the Capital building and Galleries, Mt Vernon, Arlinton, where my father is buried, Fredricksburg battle fields, and played on the beach where our home is on the Patomac River.

We are going back for the 4th our big family get together.  Maybe I'll make it to the Cathedral, I grew up there but never visisted the Cathedral, beautiful.

I hope all is well.

Debbie, I which I knew you were there, I would have tried to meet you somewhere so that we could have met face to face.

Bill you did say it before, but it is OK to say it again :)

Al and Peggy, this Cathedral would be hard to duplicate today.

George,

The inside of the cathedral is as powerful as the outside of it is. One of the top landmarks in Washington.

George, I wish I had known as well.  Go to my blog and read my comment to about Solomon's Island, I put two maps Lexington on map 1 is where Solomon's is.  Map 2 near Morgantown and the bridge is where my family home is .

Bill it sure is :)

Nick the height of the ceiling had to be at least 200 high.

Esko, I would agree, and I would encourage anyone going to Washington to make this one of their stops.

Ann, I am glad the you suggested it, so I had to mention you in the blog.

Hi George - I believe I saw this cathedral in 1960 when it was still under construction.  The cathedral was also mentioned in Dan Brown's 2009 book Lost Symbol.  I won't spoil it for you.  It was a very good book all about DC.  Wortth reading.

Judi yes she did do a good job in these.

Phil I don't have a lot of time for reading, so maybe I will have you tell me more about it at the monthly meeting on Friday.
