Rainy Days and Thoughts on BP
Yes, the BP disaster is all that and more, the world will feel the effects for years and probably generations to come.... rainy days and mondays, good post
I don't like rainy or even overcast days. They dampen my spirit. So on such a day in the Ozarks, I thought I'd share my thoughts on a subject that has dampened the spirit of most of America: BP.The company just doesn't seem to do anything right. First of all they openly admitted that their mistake has caused what will probably go down as the single most catastrophic environmental disaster that this nation has ever encountered.
And if the disaster itself isn't bad enough, let them add insult to injury by having their CEO declare that he hopes to get this wrapped up soon so he can, "get his life back". Are you kidding me? Maybe if he had been from America he would have heard the old Abraham Lincoln quote, "It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt". You think that maybe the people who are being economically destroyed might like their lives back? Or how about the wildlife covered in oil or that have died, you think they might like their lives back?
Then today, BP has announced a multi-million dollar ad campaign telling the American public that they will fix the damage caused by their mistake. Wow!. How about instead of spending millions on image control, distribute that money to the people really hurt by this mess and let the press cover that.
