Radon in Milwaukee

By
Home Inspector with Pillar To Post Home Inspection

Do you have radon in your home? No matter what you hear if you live in Milwaukee you may have radon levels in your home higher than what the EPA recommends as safe. It is true that in Milkwaukee levels are lower than the surounding communities but unfortunately radon levels are still in excess of 4 pCi/L. I rarely find levels higher than 6 pCi/L. in Milwaukee, but often find the level to be higher than 4 pCi/L. If you care about your health test your home for radon.

Hi John!  I noticed you were a "local" rainer and had to pop in....good reminder on radon...I live in Waukesha and finally decided to do a radon test of my home after recommending it for 10 years to clients...well, first round of charcoal tests came in at 7 something and then we called in the professionals and that came back at 9 something...soooo..now we have a nice radon system installed and I also purchased a radon monitor and it is at .5!  :0)

I think some agents don't take it seriously. Radon is a killer and needs to be addressed
