Using Technology to Sell a Home
Very interesting....but then again, we already kind of knew that, didn't we?
Using Technology to Sell Your Home
According to the National Association of Realtors®,The Internet has become an essential and indispensible tool in the home search process with 90% of home buyers using it to search for homes, up 30 percentage points during the past six years.
Additionally, among buyers that reported using the internet, 76 percent reported using it frequently, an increase of 7 percentage points from 2008. As a result of searching online, buyers frequently found their agent. Around 60 percent of buyers were likely to walk through homes viewed online.
When it comes to the real estate business these advances in the use of technology are ever present. The way that people find a REALTOR®, look for a new property, and go about looking to sell their property has seen a huge shift in the past few years into being technology driven. Very rare are the instances of someone just driving around in neighborhoods looking for signs on homes that they then call to get more information about. This still exists in our marketplace however the trend of home buyers is to utilize all the electronic outlets available to them in their home buying process.
Technology has enabled the seller of a home to have their property seen by more people than ever. Some things that a seller can utilize are doing a virtual tour of the home. This is where photos, and video can be taken of the interior and exterior of the home and place online to be viewed by someone not only locally but anywhere in the world. Social media outlets such as ActiveRain, Facebook, MySpace, Linked-In, Craigslist and others along with a Realtor's® company website are all places that a home can be viewed by potential buyers.
