Pleasure Point is the ultimate beach town with world class surf and funky cottage style homes. Its a very desirable place to live with the most attractive homes selling for over 5 million. Like most of Santa Cruz County there is a broad mix of styles and structure which also provides for a wide price range. Overall most properties in Pleasure Point don't stay on the market long. One of my listings on Palisades was only on the market for two weeks before getting offers over the asking price.
Pleasure Point is a world famous surf spot hosting an array of contests from beginner to the professional level. Other surf spots in the Pleasure Point Community include Sewer Peak, First Peak, Second Peak, Once in a Whiles, 38th Ave, the Drain Pipe, the Hook, Santa Marias, and Wind and Sea. Pleasure Point is also the origination place of the popular surf brand Oneill. A lot of surf culture and history has come from this area. Besides surfing the area provides for beautiful coastal biking along East Cliff and Opal Cliff drive, not to forget the stellar mountain biking in the Santa Cruz Mountains
Pleasure Point is a host to many great restaurants and shops. Cafe Cruz is a fine dining experience specializing in American Cuisine using fresh local produce with a relaxed interior design. The Cliff Cafe is another local favorite with a great vegan selection including the most popular tofu scramble. Hanks at the Hook is a less formal stop to grab a bite to eat but has great salads, burgers and sandwiches. Elizabeth's Market has a prime location where you can grab a bite to eat and sit outside and watch the surf. A great sushi restaurant is a must in every beach town. Takara Sushi on Capitola Road has available party platters and free live music every Friday night. Local surf shops are also a must. Of course there is the Oneill Shop on 41st but also Santa Cruz Surf and Skate, Freeline Design and many more. An interesting shop to check out is Johnsons Art Studio. They specialize in all types of lighting fixtures and have a green line which is more environmentally friendly. Its a great spot to know about when redecorating or remodeling your home.
