MY DIRTY CINDERELLA STORY!

MY DIRTY CINDERELLA STORY!  Got your attention huh?  You bad thing you!  This really happened yesterday and I thought I would pass this along.  I just had to laugh at myself and the situation!

I am out showing homes when one of those big Texas thunderstorms comes rolling through.  It rains like mad for about 10 minutes and then calms down.  Of course the next house I come to the lock box is on the side of the house.

As I gingerly step onto the wet grass to retrieve the key, my foot sinks into a sinkhole and wham!  My cute little summer sandal is SUCKED RIGHT OFF!  Great!  Now I am sticking my hand down into the mud to get my cute sandal.

Now you can picture it - mud up to my shin on one leg and mud up to my forearm on one arm.  What a sight.  My clients meantime are really enjoying this one.  I just wave and smile and head to the garden hose to spray myself down.

The moral of the story, keep mud boots or extra shoes in the trunk as well as a towel!  I need to add this to my list from my post, Do You Have Junk in Your Trunk?  I was certainly in need of a dry pair of shoes yesterday!

Ladies, I think the cute sandal will survive but the pedicure was ruined!  Oh well, time to get the salon anyway!

My clients and I all enjoyed a great chuckle about the whole thing!  I am going back today for a second showing and will for sure take my Crocs or my mud boots!  Why oh why do some Seller's insist on the putting the dang lockbox in obscure, out of the way places????

I have always hoped my Cinderella moment was coming - just didn't think it would be this way! :)

HAPPY SHOWING TODAY!

Paula.....that's hilarious....I can picture that happening......and you're right about sellers not thinking about where the lockbox should go....or maybe it was their agent.

Hey.....the usual is boring.  No one ever remembers that stuff.  It's stuff like this that we'll never forget.  Embrace the moment....as you have already.

I can TOTALLY sympathize with you on that one! I was out showing properties and it was my habit to leave my keys in the car. My client hit the lock button when she got out and I had to wait an hour for the tow truck. In the meantime her mother had joined us with her son, so they went to McDonald's and came back when they were done to finish looking at houses.

So yes, always be prepared. An extra key, an extra pair of shoes, and wet wipes. You just never know!

I'm upset about the cute sandal LOL!  I thought about you yesterday when I saw the severe storms in Houston.  Its hard to dress professional, and comfortable when showing especially in summer!  I have worn my L L Bean mudboots many times, but please do not report me to  Stacy on "What Not to Wear"!!

Getting my foot muddy is one thing. Getting my shoes muddy is a totally different story. I was wearing sandals recently on the Branson Lending (an outdoor shopping mall) and I had three different women stop me and ask where did I get my shoes? Best feeling in the world. Thanks for sharing.

Paula, this sounds like an elaborate story put together simply to justify a pedicure....glad it was only mud

This is too funny.  I can totally picture it happening.  Glad the shoes survived.  Hopefully you got a massage while you were in there getting the pedicure.
