I just started the Effective Public Speaking and Human Resources course for Dale Carnegie and an interesting thought pattern came to mind. A lot of people have a hard time describing what they are good at. I found that most people in the class and in general do not think its okay to talk about the good things about themselves. I am not saying that we should constantly boast and demand praise but I wonder when it became taboo to talk about such things as money... and dreams... and our business goals. I know in the Real Estate world those things are talked about a lot with our mentors or coaches so this may sound out of place to some of you. I guess my main point is if your not willing to tell people why you are great and should be their Realtor, someone else may come along who is not scared to show their worth. You have to own what you do and what you say because 9 times out of 10 if you don't believe it your clients wont either... I think in our busy world we forget to take the time for self improvement and to keep improving upon our relationship skills. To end this in a goofy way even 10 minuets a day of any type of "self love" can have positive effects on the rest of your day... and ultimately your career.
To paraphrase Zig Ziglar... Do you wait untill you have run out of gas to fill up? Then why do you wait until your empty to fill yourself up...
