Quite a stink and uproar is being heard all across North San Diego County about the six nurses that have allegedly discussed patient information on the Internet site Facebook. Larry Anderson, CEO- Tri-City Hospital, made a public statement that he is firing 5 of the nurses and a sixth will receive disciplinary actions over violating patient privacy.
What has everyone in a dither is that these nurses apparently posted on Facebook, private information about patients that were in their care. Tri-City Hospital is taking aggressive action in regards to this matter. Unfortunately, this is not the first time Tri-City Hospital has been in violation of invading patient privacy. 2007- 10 employees were fired for having run afoul of this same issue, patient privacy. In May 2007 these 10 employees took pictures of patients or patient records with their cell phones.
