Have you ever had one of THOSE weeks? Where you are completely overwhelmed and wondering what you are doing in this business? For all sorts of reasons that I won't go into during this post I have had one of THOSE WEEKS!!
However my day was considerably brightened by a hand painted card by a recent seller I had!
My client had a Manufactured Home in Caldwell Idaho in a park. She had listed it with another agent for about 9 months...and although the home was empty had been paying $250 per month on space rent. The agent wouldn't reduce the price and also wouldn't return phone calls.
This client called me and I was in the airport on my way to visit my long distance husband! Not to worry! I called an agent who often times covers for me when I am traveling and visa versa when he is traveling! Pat made an appointment with her to list the property...
I completed all the paperwork so he only had to explain and get signatures....he put my sign and lockbox up on the property....The Caldwell Idaho Manufactured home had been listed at $25,900 and we reduced it to $19,900 and put it in the computer...with a higher commission than is usual on stick built homes.
3 days later had an interested party and an offer written up and accepted....there were challenges with getting the property closed...had to complete a few inspection repairs and the closing was delayed due to the sellers other property not closing when he thought it would! But finally on Monday we had a done deal! I walked away with a very small check....but also had already got 2 referrals for other listings and several people from my church who had approached me with positive comments from my seller.
The card I got today was priceless......
It had a hand painted duck with feet going a mile a minute. It said on the frong...."the secret to success is to stay cool and calm on top........and paddle like crazy underneath!!!

That is what it is all about...we have to approach our job from contribution....it isn't always about the money...although that is nice...but helping people is our number one goal!!!
