Sink or Swim... With Mollie T

By
Real Estate Agent with New Home Hunters of Fort Worth and Tarrant County

There are so many times... in daily life, in real estate... or in other areas of our lives... that the time comes when we finally just have to grab the old "bull by the horns."

Let's see.  What else can we call it ?  Do the right thing ?  Take command ?  Shove it out on the lake and see if it floats ?  Run it up the flag pole and see if anyone salutes ?

Well... when I got home from Kroger today... buying cat food and other necessities... there she was.  Miss Mollie T.

She told me how she had spent the morning, and the first half of the afternoon (between naps, of course) watching the cable news shows.  She watched CNN.  She watched MSNBC.  She watched Headline News.  She even watched Fox News.  (Bad Kitty, Bad Kitty !)

All they had, she complained, was news and pictures of the horrible Gulf Oil spill.  The stories were all about how BP, the government, President Obama, and various citizens groups and environmentalist groups... all flailing around... did not quite know what to do next.

Well... Mollie T Cat wants an answer.  And Mollie wants it now !

Mollie T says it is time to... as she puts it... only using "initials" rather than words... cuz she's such a "proper" little girl... Mollie T says it is time to SOGOTP.

In other words... Mollie T says it' time to "Sink or Swim !"

Mykel:  I think Mollie T has already left for BP.  I am not quite sure what she is going to do once she gets there.  I think she is hoping to find Peter Parker on the way, and see if she could have his little spider take a bite out of her... so she could develop even greater super powers than Spider Man did.  Hmmm... one can only wonder what she would do with those powers.

Andrea:  Yes... she's a pretty girl, and she knows it.  LOL.  Yeah... about Fox.  She is not a "Fox Fan."  When she watches it... it sort of like she is spying on it... kinda like having it "under surveillance."  She just wanted to know what they were up to.  But... I scolded her... as you saw in the post... and she was duly and appropriately contrite.

She did say, however, that "desperate times call for desperate measures.  It is a very good thing, though, that she turned on Fox early in the day... when they only have on what they jokingly call "newscasts.  If it had been in the early evening, she might have run into the Bobsey Twins from the Home for the Genetically Damaged... Hannity and Beck.  At least she didn't have to go through that.  whew !

Speaking of that... does anyone remember the Bobsey Twins ?

Cindy:  How incredible.  My past kitty was named Ally.  We were together for about twelve years.  I get sad when I see her name, and remember.  What a sweet kitty she was.  She was the only cat I've ever had who could play "fetch."  Our favorite toy was the plastic rings they have about the Kroger half-gallons of milk.  I would toss them and she would run, get them, and bring them back.  If I would have, she would do that for hours.

At other times... she would bring the plastic ring to me... and then walk to the other side of the room, turn, then meow, and then sit there and wait for me to toss it to her so she could catch it in mid-air.  I miss Ally.

Anyhoo... watching Animal Planet is a good thing.  My Ally used to watch the fish on the screen saver of my big screen.

Yikes... Housewives of NJ, huh ?  How cool.  But, your Alley is more sophisticated than you think.  I bet she would NEVER watch Fox.  She knows better.  Mollie T says to give Alley a hug.  :)

Hope you enjoyed RainCamp.  Were Chris Ann and Pat there ?  I know Ellie was.  Did you get to spend time with them ?

Gary:  Ummm... and what KIND of action would that be ?  You don't mean like going out, and "catting" around, do you ?  LOL.  But yes... Mollie is tired of them dragging their feet and their tails.  Time to "do it."

Kristen:  LOL.  Right away, Miss Kristen... we get an LOL.  Yes... she prolly needed to wash the Fox off her.  I don't know which one would be more gooey.  I DO know that Fox would be more "slick" than the oil spill would.

Sure, it is time to SOGOTP.  But, as sad and as aggravating as this all is... it makes me even MORE angry that the folks down in New Orleans are STILL waiting for things to be done.  Even after five years... their neighborhoods have not been rebuilt.  How long must they wait ?

I have heard, and seen evidence that those ACORN videos by that young, smart-assy kid... were fabricated.  Edited to make them come out like they did when they were shown by Fox.  If so, I would not be very surprised.  Fox is Fox.  Would you ?  I cannot believe that nobody has the mechanical and logistical knowledge to fix this thing.  It just boggles one.

Hi Karen Anne ~ She's a beauty - what a fun photo of her! Seems she's pretty talented with the remote.  Kristen's comment made me laugh out loud.  Did you see Rachel Maddow last night? She made a superb comparison between what happened to Acorn and what hasn't happened to BP.

Steve:  I am afraid you have used a set of standards that is much too high for BP.  Half a brain ?  Never happen.  Blogging theme day.  Yeah... I guess I HAVE sorta been BP'ing all over the place, haven't I ?  It wasn't on purpose.  It just happened.  Just like the oil spill... LOL.

Oops... clean-up on aisle three, please... clean-up on aisle three.

Liz:  Yes... Miss Mollie T is a very pretty cat.  She give me quite a few opportunities to take shots like that.  Just earlier tonight... she had her entire head under the faucet... just like she was shampooing her hair.  What a goose !

I missed Rachel last night, but I can probably pick up the video on her show-section on her MSNBC website page.  They usually carry the better videos over for at least a day or two.  Rachel is one pretty sharp cookie.

Her undergrad degree is from Stanford.  She was a Rhodes scholar, and has a Doctorate from Oxford.  You cannot have a much better sholastic background than that.  I like her a lot.  And, oh yes, we cannot forget she is also a nice Catholic girl.  :)

I am going to head over to her website and try and find that video clip.  Thanks for the heads-up about it.

And yes... Kristen's comment made me laugh as well.  I am so pleased she has been commenting on my posts.

How cute is Mollie T! And most cats won't be caught dead in a sink! I betcha BP never thought they would ever have an oil spill.

Roger:  Mollie T has also turned into a "hit and run" terror.  Last night... after my writing that post... I wondered if she saw it, and decided to get even.  She just put her head totally under the water stream, and then tippy-toed up on the breakfast bar, walked over to the edge of my monitor screen... and then violently SHOOK her head... sending a cat's-head full of water all over the screen.  She then immediately turned and ran... off the table, across the room, and around the corner.  She then gingerly peeked back around the corner... I am guessing... wondering if I was going to be following with the squirt bottle.  I chose not to.

And... Miss Mollie T has traveled with me in the past, however she will not be in attendance on any trips in the near future.  I want to relax... LOL.

Jackie:  Miss Mollie T IS a cutie.  But very devilish.  And yes, most cats won't go anywhere near water, except to drink it.  There are times Mollie T will also just stick her front right paw UNDER the stream, get it totally soaked, and then pull it back, and drink the water off the sopping-wet paw.

And no... I doubt BP ever foresaw this kind of thing happening.  But wow... drilling in 5,000 feet of water... what the heck could anyone do... especially if they ON PURPOSE chose NOT to go with normal safety precautions... like was the case here with BP.  Creeps !

She didn't like you talking about her in that blog sista!  You must be more discreet when you are "puttin her  business on the street".............so to speak.

I hear ya about wanting to relax Karen Anne, looking forward to seeing you here in Cleveburg!

Hi again Karen Anne,

  Re: Post #22

I was thinking more along the line of cute animals, but I guess we could extend that....

 Who is the cute "SP"?

Tim:  I knew you meant that Mollie T was cute, so she could be forgiven.  I just globalized the comment... and included people, as well.

And, to answer your question... ummm... why the lovely, charming, and oh-so talented Ex-Half-term Governor Sarah Palin.  But, after thinking about it... why should she be forgiven ?  That would only spoil the joy of making fun of her... LOL.

I take it Miss Mollie T likes to play with the stream of water in the sink?

I'm on the east coast of Florida, but we've been hearing the stories that the oil spill finally hit our western shores in the last week or two. And the images of the poor animals are horrible!
