Helpful Advice for Those Facing Foreclosure...and it's FREE!

Don't let your sellers hang themselves when facing possible foreclosure. There are options out there that can help, one being free brochures with good advice and resources for answers.

Some of you may not visit Realtor.org very often but it is jam packed with information available to the consumer. I was reading through the website and came upon some brochures NAR has developed for agents to provide to clients that might be facing foreclosure. They are a great way to start up a conversation that is sure to be emotional, and help show the consumer that you care about their best interests.

One of the biggest mistakes home owners are making when facing foreclosure is not talking to the bank and not trying to come up with a solution that works for both home owner and lender. Lenders are not the bad guy. The last thing they want is a property on their books. The more homes they hold, the less money they have to lend, and the less they can borrow.

If you are interested in learning more about brochures available, here is a list of those at the link above:

  • Learn How to Avoid Foreclosure and Keep Your Home
  • How to Avoid Predatory Lending
  • Specialty (non-traditional) Mortgages
  • Traditional Mortgages: Understanding Your Options
  • Learn All About FHA Mortgages

You can order hard copies to hand out, or download a copy of the brochure, or just a text version, then email it to a client. Realtor.org is a site with tons of information for agents and consumers. Take advantage of it!
