Stop the Harassing Collection Companies

Are you getting harrassed by a collection company? Do you want it to stop? There are two ways to make it stop. One way is to tell them to stop calling you. Sound to good to be true? Well, according to Federal Law once you ask them to stop calling you they must stop calling you, if they continue to call they are willfully violating the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and according to law they can be sued for the violations, click here to see why ACT was fined for 1.5 Million Dollars.

The second approach is my favorite. First, you need to register your phone number on the Do Not Call List then wait for the collection company to call. Once they call ask for their name and then simply tell them "I am on the Do Not Call list, please do not call me again" then hang up. Now get pad of paper, a pen, digital camera, and wait the moment they call, you will need to document the call (when, who, what number call was made to), take a picture of the caller id, and record the voice mail.  Once you have documented at least 10 calls, contact me at either rondi@fortresscreditrepair.com or http://www.fortresscreditrepair.com I will then put you in touch with an attorney that does nothing but sue collections companies for violating Federal Law.  To give you an idea of the fine amounts and how much you are looking at receiving, each call made to a number on the DNC list is a $500 fine plus attorney fees. The collection companies know this is the case, but they violate the law regardless. Maybe if enough people fight back they will stop the abuse.

Interesting article .. I don't have these issues but it is nice to know for those whom I know in the States that might.  Our DNC list here has stricter violations.. even one one incident, you can be fines $1000 and your company $10,000.  Big no no..
