Gladden Farms, Marana AZ - Summer Food Donation Drive

Every so often I run across a little blurb about somebody local doing something good, and I wanted to share this story with the "world-at-large". I received my Gladden Farms, Marana, AZ, HOA May-June Newsletter on June 9th this issue (I guess it was a mail mix-up) and called the family to see about their event and make sure it was still going on.  I hope most people got their circular earlier, because there were a LOT of Gladden Farms, Marana, AZ events going on in May, and many more planned for over the summer.

I gave then a call, and confirmed that Leah and her family are running a food-collection drive May through July, and maybe longer if there's a good response, and need the involvement of the residents of Gladden Farms, Marana, AZ.  On the 1st and 3rd Sundays of every month, non-perishable food items can be left in a bag on or by your mailbox.  Leah and her family are driving down each and every street, starting at 4 p.m. in the Cottonwood subdivision, (parcel 2 of the Gladden Farms, Marana AZ community) and then will take your donations to the Marana Food Bank.  The donation is given in the name of Gladden Farms.

How cool is that?  Food banks in Tucson suffer during the summer months - the winter visitors are gone and donations always seem to level out.  Here's an opportunity to give, and you need venture no further than your mailbox!

Leah and her husband hope that this spirit of giving creates a pay-it-forward attitude in their children and a community awareness for activity and involvement.  Isn't there a saying, "Charity begins at home"?  They are hoping this food collection drive will inspire others to donate whatever they can:  Time, money, un-used household items, and of course, non-perishable items.

Please take this opportunity to open your pantry for the recipients of the Marana Food Bank.  Leah and her family are here to make it easier for you.

If you have any questions, or would like to help donate, please give me a call or send an email  I would be happy to put you in touch with Leah, or have the family contact you.
