Hey John, yes it's true but I'm guessing they don't mind :)

Well how kind of you Kathy! Now you understand why my legas hurt that evening, I need a fancy shamcy lens.

I'm with everyone else here, BEAUTIFUL shot! I'm also with you on loving insects growing up, well, actually anything outside and natural.  Rocks, leaves, bugs, they all bring the "6 year old boy" out in me. Of course the 8 year old girl in me loves the irridescent colors of dragonflies! Are you in the midst of the changes, to which Ginger hinted?

Hey Cheryl, we sound alike...count me on the rocks too! Thanks for compliment on the photo, I got lucky. It was fun day w/ 2 very fun friends at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens.

Yes I'm certainly in midst of a move but I'm still doing redesign & staging work until the moving truck pulls up, lol.

Cynthia, is that because all of its legs look like they are attached to its neck? LOl, it is a beautiful picture! Something amazing about how insects just...perch...on flower petals...

I think you be right William! It looks like these winged creatures use them for gathering the nectar. I was watching the bees, butterflies & moths on my deck yesterday and from flower to flower they buzzzzed along. It was a good day!

I LOVE your avatar by the way, looks like you may an assistant w/ you :~D

Hey there Russell, it's going good here, yes I had to get close and squat because I don't have a fancy shamncy long lens...yet! You do the same and make it a safe one w/ you and your family :~)

Hi Kathy, well I have to tell you I'm kinda stubborn when I want to get my shot, no matter how long it takes. It was a bit difficult as those dragonflies would not stay in one spot like I asked them to, LOL. Thanks!

OK, let me get this straight - you took that crystal clear, stunning shot with a non-SLR camera ??? for real ?????

I am gobsmacked, because that photo is worthy of being framed for sure !!!

Gorgeous, and is only upstaged by the terrific picture of your burning your thighs crouching to take the shot !! LOLOL !!!

Cheers Cyn ! This was great !!

Yes sir you are correct indeed Sheldon just my Panasonic DMC-FZ28 w/ no zoom lens, hence the need for patience and getting up close & personal w/ the creature.

As the evening neared I kept think why does my bum and legs hurt so much because I knew had not worked out in the past 3 days!

Always a pleasure to see you and thanks so much for your kind words, much appreciated!!!

Very nice indeed ! ... and if I can ask one more question ... what setting did you choose ? I had a Panasonic DMC before the LUMIX that I have now, but I am very intrigued to know what setting choice (sports, portrait, etc...) that you used for such amazing clarity !

(and did you say you didnt even use the onboard zoom at all ????? wow !)

Hey Sheldon ask away, no worries here! I did use the built in zoom lens in the camera but did not use any additional type of lens zom or otherwise while taking this picture. That's why I had to get sooooo close!!! Sorry for the confusion.

I was using the close up setting w/ the flower icon and the IA intelligent auto setting for most pictures because I was snapping so fast I my brain couldn't keep up w/ changing settings :~D

I gotta say this is a great camera for the price and I can add a different lens & filter to it when $$$ permits.

More photos to come from my adventure to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. Woo-Hoo!

Perfect ! I thought it might be the little flower close up, so that makes sense.

... I wasnt aware you could add additional lenses though ! Very nice !

OK, thanks for the update ... Q&A complete :o)

Do drop by for any further questions Sheldon...next time tea & biscuits will be served, LOL!

Now I have type this to confuse you even more I cannot remember if it was the close up w/ the flower icon or the IA setting I used!!! Sorry :~(

Hahahah ! ....my guess is with the clarity you got, that it was the flower on a personal setting not the iA ! My iA wont take close ups as crisp as that, although works fine for all else.

... lightly steeped with a spot of milk and half a sugar please ;o)

My IA setting will only take clear zoom shots if I'm very still and don't breathe...hard to do w/out getting {{{{dizzy}}}}.....

....yes I know I've set myself up for that statement Sheldon. I didn't have my tripod w/ me so hence the half squat stance!!! One day I'll get to reading that owner's manual!!!

Yes I'll get right on with tea order :~D
