Green Drinks Vancouver Washingto. Invitation to June's Meeting

It is that time again. Laura and Terra have been hard at work setting up this month's Green Drink event. If you are interested in green and sustainable living and like to socialize with likeminded people, then mark your calendar and plan to be there. It is always a good time and they work hard to provide useful information to the group.

Hello everyone,

Yahoo, the sun has FINALLY arrived, We hope you were all able to get out and play in the sun this weekend. Here are the details for our next event. We hope you can join us.

Tuesday June 29th, Intros start at 6pm as usual.

La Costa Mexican Restaurant at 4708 NE Thurston Way (near the Olive Garden by the mall) 360 885-7675

Our 5 minute spiel blurb:   Did you know that Washington State has a coal-fired power plant? The TransAlta coal plant in Centralia is the largest source of global warming pollution in Washington State. It's also the largest source of toxic mercury pollution, which is especially dangerous to children and future mothers, and is responsible for haze pollution which destroys the beauty of 12 wilderness areas, including Mt. Rainier.

We can do better.

We can replace coal with clean, renewable forms of energy like wind, solar and efficiency that will create jobs and reduce global warming. Join local grassroots Sierra Club volunteers working to help transition TransAlta to something cleaner and greener. Visit the website at http://www.sierraclub.org/coal/wa/.

Dont forget to drop us a note on Facebook!! And check out our calendar at Terra's blog.
